Minnesota is back in the national spotlight… and for all the wrong reasons.
Federal agents have launched what they’re calling a massive investigation into alleged daycare fraud in Minnesota. Homeland Security, ICE, and the FBI were already on the ground with personnel and resources.
Now, a viral, independent investigative video showed largely inactive childcare centers receiving millions in taxpayer dollars. One center, barely operational, was supposedly serving 99 children and received roughly $4 million in state funds. Even the sign on the building was misspelled.
This isn’t a one-off. It’s part of a pattern.
Under Governor Tim Walz, Minnesota has already lost hundreds of millions—possibly billions— to fraud tied to social services programs. Federal officials have said these cases may only be “the tip of a very large iceberg.”
And yet Walz keeps insisting everything is “well-run.”
It’s not.
That’s why I’m fighting in Congress, pushing legislation to expose fraud, demand transparency, and hold state governments accountable when they refuse to cooperate with oversight over federal tax dollars.
But here’s the reality: taking on entrenched bureaucracies, a Democratic governor, and a media machine that runs cover for these scandals isn’t easy.
