As we reach the final days of the year, I want to be clear about why this moment and your support cannot wait.

In recent weeks, The Progressive has been reporting on how power is being used to exclude, punish, and disappear people, and how communities are resisting those forces in real time.

We’ve examined the legal architecture that quietly entrenches inequality and forecloses justice. We’ve reported on the criminalization of unhoused people—policies that violate international human rights standards while pushing the most vulnerable further into danger. We’ve exposed how “wars” on drugs and “narcoterrorism” are being used as smokescreens for repression and expanded state violence. And we’ve traced how reckless foreign policy and corporate-initiated climate policies are making our already fragile world more perilous still.

This is not abstract analysis. It is reporting from the ground, about those whose lives are being constrained, whose rights are being erased, and what happens when cruelty is normalized as policy.

That is why this moment is urgent.
