Trump has assembled a massive armada off the coast of Venezuela. He has appointed himself judge, jury and executioner -- using weapons of war to assassinate defenseless people on small boats in international waters. And now, he is threatening an all-out invasion.

We have to stop this new war before it starts. I am writing to ask you to make an urgently-needed, tax-deductible end of the year donation to the ANSWER Coalition so we can continue to build the anti-war movement as Trump ramps up aggression against Venezuela and other nations around the world.

This is an old-style colonial war. Trump has made it crystal clear -- this is about stealing Venezuela's oil and other natural resources. He has directly stated his intention to seize this wealth, outrageously proclaiming it the rightful property of the United States and its corporations. And in recent days, the Pentagon war machine has embarked on a campaign of piracy targeting civilian vessels conducting trade with Venezuela. These ships are seized, and their cargo looted by the U.S. government.

On December 6, protests in over 65 cities nationwide took place to oppose war on Venezuela. In every region of the country, people took to the streets to show their rejection of this policy of aggression. Trump falsely campaigned on "ending the endless wars", but now he is is starting a new one. This type of visible, public pressure can make the difference in a highly volatile situation like this one.

The vast majority of people stand against another forever war. The ridiculous accusation that Venezuela is run by "narcoterrorists" is as baseless as the "weapons of mass destruction" lie during the Bush administration's invasion of Iraq. This overwhelming rejection needs to be expressed loud and clear.
