I remember Election Night 2014 like it was yesterday.
The party of supporters gathered to watch the votes roll in together. My hardworking staff tracking every precinct. Holding my wife Lisa’s hand as the results showed a much closer outcome than anticipated.
Before Election Night, everyone assumed our campaign had it in the bag. The polls were on our side. Some news outlets had even called this campaign “unbeatable.”
And then we came less than 20,000 votes away from losing. It took three days to learn the final results. I won by just 0.8% of the vote.
I tell you this story because I know we can’t take anything for granted. And with so much on the line next year, we can’t sit back and hope for the best.
So I’ve got to ask you:
Will you consider splitting a contribution of $5, $25, or $50 between Senator Angela Alsobrooks and me before Wednesday night? We can’t take anything for granted, and I need your help to build a strong campaign capable of taking on whatever Trump and his allies throw our way.
Thank you,
