Dear John,
This year has been eye-opening. We’ve seen how much damage a single administration can do and how fragile our democracy and the institutions that underpin it remain, even now, nearly 250 years later. It’s exhausting, discouraging, and easy to tune out.
But now is exactly when we need to stand up.
Voters across the country showed up in November and delivered big wins for Democrats at every level of government. Up and down the ballot, we are proving that this administration’s agenda is deeply unpopular and that Democrats have your best interests in mind. With the cost of housing, groceries, and healthcare reaching unaffordable levels, ICE raids and American troops in American cities, and Republican efforts to let politicians, not the people, decide who represents us by manipulating district boundaries, Republicans have made clear they do not have your best interests at heart.
Democrats have fought tirelessly for more affordable healthcare, worked to stop this Administration’s damaging tariff economy, and pushed back against Republican efforts to predetermine the outcome of our elections. And voters responded, making clear that the American people will not accept this agenda.
That is why we must be ready for the year ahead. Republicans know they are vulnerable in 2026, and they are already working overtime to tilt the playing field by restricting access, spreading misinformation, and doing everything they can to make it harder for Democrats to win.
