Hi John
Sheldon’s teen years were marked by involvement in selling drugs, a path that could have had lifelong consequences. Thanks to diversion programs and supportive policies informed by research and advocacy, he gained the chance to reflect and make better choices.
Now, Sheldon teaches these skills to other youth affected by gun violence in Baltimore. “ I call this righting my wrongs, ” he says.
The Sentencing Project works to ensure that stories like Sheldon’s are not the exception. By combining research, advocacy, and public education, we advance reforms and policies that give young people real opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.
Your first gift today helps expand youth justice reforms and gives more young people a second chance.
Stand with youth justice. Give now.
