The Trump Administration’s systematic attacks on the trans community are leaving trans youth with limited options. Many are growing up in unsupportive households. Some are even kicked out of their homes or forced to run away when they come out to their families. Access to the most basic necessities, like housing, education, and food, is limited by discriminatory systems.
Trans youth need supportive schools and communities to build their resilience and make them less vulnerable to traffickers who exploit their needs. When trans youth are abused or exploited, they need supportive housing, medical and mental healthcare, and connection. Service providers across the country work to meet these kids’ needs through housing programs and case management.
On top of scapegoating the trans community, the Trump Administration has spent the last year cutting service providers’ funding, stopping them from offering the critical housing services needed to get trans youth off the streets. Thereby, condemning trans youth to a life of abuse and exploitation.
We won’t stand for it.
In fact, we’re suing to stop it.
But we can’t do it alone, especially now. Join us in this fight!
