It was hard. It was meaningful. And it reminded me every day why I ran in the first place.

I held 17 in-person and virtual town halls because I never want decisions made in D.C. to feel distant or abstract. We talked about healthcare costs, Medicaid, and how folks can afford next month’s rent or save for retirement.

I heard over and over from folks of all political stripes that the Trump regime’s actions are dangerous, harmful, and just plain wrong. And I heard that Democrats have a responsibility to be bold, throw out the old playbook, and step into the future.

So that’s what my team and I did. We used every lever in Congress to stop the worst of the Trump agenda, and took unprecedented steps outside of Congress to set ourselves up for success in 2026.
