Celebrate the new year with a good hike

Whether it's your annual tradition or a new adventure, *join us for a First Day Hike on Jan. 1, 2026, at a Nebraska state park!*

These guided hikes are the perfect chance to get active, enjoy winter scenery with other nature lovers, and explore a beautiful park. *More than a dozen parks statewide will be hosting these hikes*, some with special features like a potluck soup luncheon or winter art activity.

Find a hike to join on our calendar [ [link removed] ] — or plan your own hiking adventure at any Nebraska state park [ [link removed] ]. These spaces belong to you and have so much to discover all year long.

*Before you go, remember to get your 2026 park permit,* which is good for the entire year. Skip the lines and buy online [ [link removed] ], or purchase from the park office when you arrive.
