As a fundraiser, it’s my job to tell you why you should support The Hechinger Report. And I’m going to be honest: This year, it has felt like so many nonprofits and causes need our support.
But when I look at the education issues I care about most, I realize something important: The awareness I have for the challenges (and the solutions) faced by these causes is a result of trustworthy, data-driven nonprofit journalism like that of The Hechinger Report. Whether it’s the community college that’s introducing courses in fire science and search & rescue or the $50/week offered through the Rooted School Foundation to increase student attendance (spoiler: it’s working!), our work uplifts these important organizations and provides visibility for their solutions-oriented programs.
What does my donation actually support?
Your gift helps ensure that our reporting remains free and available to everyone—from teachers and administrators to policymakers, parents, and readers who simply care about the education system.
