Texas GOP Releases 2026 Primary Ballot Propositions The Republican Party of Texas has announced the 10 non-binding propositions that will appear on the GOP's March 2026 primary ballot. As Erin Anderson reports [[link removed]], the results will guide the discussion on priorities for the '27 legislative session at the Texas GOP's convention in June 2026.
The proposals range from property tax elimination to banning Sharia law and a demand that lawmakers stop allowing Democrats to chair legislative subcommittees. Last week, Acting Comptroller Kelly Hancock asked [[link removed]] Attorney General Ken Paxton for a legal opinion on whether schools affiliated with the Council on American-Islamic Relations or the Communist Party of China are eligible to participate in Texas’ new school choice program. The Office of the Comptroller, not the state’s education agency, administers the program.
