Let me tell you something, John: I am married to a remarkable woman.

Betty is kind, driven, selfless, and one of the smartest people around. Before I met her, and since, she’s always been a thoughtful problem solver committed to the unheard people of California, a voice for the voiceless in our communities who wants everyone to get ahead.

When people ask me if I’d want to be called the First Gentleman or the First Partner of California, I laugh. Because the proudest title I can have is Betty’s husband.

Betty is who we need to represent us for these next four years. Not because I am her husband, but because she’s the best choice for California. Her integrity, intelligence, serious work ethic, and resiliency are the qualities we need right now. She will get us through these turbulent times.
