As we step into a new and very important election year, I’ve been looking back on 2025. This year has brought chaos and cruelty from Washington, DC.

But it has also featured energy, momentum, and big wins for Democrats up and down the ballot as Americans push back on a White House that is focused on corruption and retribution while making life harder for the American people.

We have seen Democrats win or overperform in almost every special election that has taken place in 2025.

In April, we won a Wisconsin Supreme Court seat despite massive spending on the other side from Elon Musk and Republican Super PACs. We won two governor’s races, holding New Jersey and flipping Virginia from red to blue. Dems broke the Republican supermajority in the Mississippi legislature and flipped two of five seats on the Georgia Public Service Commission.

And just this month in Kentucky, Democrats won a state senate special election by almost 50 points.

People are tired of the leadership that they’re seeing out of Washington, DC, from both the White House and Congress. Prices are continuing to rise as tariffs hit consumers and businesses alike. Health insurance premiums are spiking thanks to Trump’s big ugly bill and Congress’ refusal to act.
