I believe government can and should be a productive force for good — to help ensure people can live, work, go to school, and raise a family with dignity. To make sure everyone — no matter what you look like, where you come from, who you love, or who you pray to — has a fair shot to get ahead.

That’s what we’ve done right here in Pennsylvania, John. I only wish the far-right politicians running the show in DC felt the same way.

I’ll tell you more in a second, but I need you to know: Team Shapiro’s most important fundraising deadline of the year is just four days away, and according to the latest memo from our finance team, we’re still tracking to fall short of our goal. Here’s the thing about public service: it’s called service for a reason. You’re there to serve others, not benefit yourself.

But that memo never made it to Donald Trump, JD Vance, or the Congressional Republicans who are more interested in helping themselves than the people they were elected to serve. Instead, they’re focused on their own politics — not the hard-working Pennsylvanians I’m fighting for every day.

These good folks deserve a government that works for them. It’s that simple, John.

A government that protects our fundamental freedoms, not one that attacks them. A government that actually puts money back into people’s pockets, not one that only talks about it.

That’s what we’ve built together here in Pennsylvania, John. But it’s going to take all of us to keep it standing strong.
