Dear Friend,

Last week, a radical pro-abortion motion was defeated in the Dáil by a narrow margin of 73 votes to 71. Had it passed, it would have reopened legislation that sought to remove the three day waiting period and effectively allow abortion up to birth.

This result did not happen by chance.

As soon as we became aware of the motion, the Pro Life Campaign moved quickly into action. In the 24 hours leading up to the vote, we worked intensively to alert and mobilise supporters across the country, to ensure TDs were clearly informed about the dangers of the proposal, and to engage directly with public representatives who were open to hearing the pro-life case.

Hundreds of people contacted their local TDs, and pro-life representatives worked tirelessly inside Leinster House to prevent the motion from progressing.

The margin was extremely tight, but the motion was defeated.

This is a clear example of how sustained political engagement makes a real difference. The Pro Life Campaign is unique in this work. We focus consistently on:
* engaging with elected representatives
* providing clear information
* supporting pro-life TDs and Senators
* ensuring that the reality of abortion law in Ireland is brought into the political arena

The response from supporters since the vote has been overwhelming. We have received many messages of encouragement and thanks, and we are deeply grateful for that support.

This result also shows how vigilant we must remain. Attempts to further expand Ireland’s already extreme abortion law can arise with little notice. Being ready to respond quickly and effectively requires resources, planning, and ongoing support.

As we look toward 2026, we are asking for your help so that we can continue this vital work. Your donation today helps ensure we are prepared to act when it matters most.

to meet core costs for advocacy, education, and support initiatives in the months ahead.
