In her weekly briefing to the International Peace Coalition meeting, Helga Zepp-LaRouche insisted that the old unipolar order is irreversibly disintegrating, and will be gone shortly. The rise of a new, post-colonial world that aspires to something better can no longer be postponed. The problem, is that the dried-out establishments of the old order are maniacally resisting reality which will not be denied. Zepp-LaRouche insisted, “We have to really think about how to get to a New Paradigm in 2026; I think otherwise we potentially will have the end of civilization. I really don’t think that this is an exaggerated fear.”

As we approach to the end of the year, there are processes of collapse and transformation which are lawfully unfolding in the world today. There is Venezuela, where the Trump Administration is fumbling with the idea of launching another un-winnable war, one which could spread to more of South America nation which can involve the entire region. There is Israel and Gaza, where an ongoing genocide plays out on the world’s smartphones and television screens. There is the military and moral cesspool of a depopulated Ukraine, where a NATO war to the last Ukrainian has been staged by financially strapped and increasingly desperate European elites who have refused to acknowledge the reality on the battlefield—Ukraine’s complete and utter military defeat. Finally, there is the marijuana-laced fever dream of a “Global NATO” pivot towards Asia, with Taiwan, Japan and others being encouraged in their militarization to take on China.

It could be an incredibly difficult and tumultuous 2026–or the world could choose a new, more human paradigm to replace the old disorder of colonialism, looting, and permanent wars, as was demonstrated by the series of conferences held by the Schiller Institute this year, in the United States, Germany, and France. A new strategic and development architecture must develop, both in Europe and the United States, together with the nations of the Global South; with the groupings of the BRICS+, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization; and with all others prepared to cooperate based on mutual respect between nations.

We need not be tragic. We must, despite ourselves, rise to the occasion of this great moment, this “punctum saliens” in human history. We must dare to be a new and irrefutable example of what people can dare to do for a good cause and what they can achieve through unity must become reality.
