We wanted to fill you in on where things stand ahead of the most important FEC fundraising deadline of our campaign. Because as a supporter of this movement, you deserve total transparency.

Here is the good news: We've received a huge number of individual donations since James Talarico launched his campaign, and our volunteer operation is running at full speed across Texas.

But here is the bad news: We've started to see a dramatic slowdown in our fundraising as we get closer to this deadline. The timing is not great at all... to say the least.

The blue bars represent the amount of money raised, while the purple line accounts for how many donations we receive for each day.

You can see the trend, John. Both metrics are headed in the wrong direction.

That leaves us with two choices. We either need a lot more individual donations or we need those who've given before to donate a larger amount than their last contribution.

Normally, we ask people who have yet to contribute to give about $5 for their first donation. But with just a few days left, we have to ask you to dig a bit deeper today.

If winning this seat in Texas and electing a candidate who can usher in a new era of politics in the Senate is something important to you, please rush a $10 contribution (or whatever you can afford) to James Talarico's campaign for U.S. Senate.
