Friend,
Dejia Brooks, a rising junior at Spelman College, one of UNCF’s member institutions, received the Slater-Millner Scholars Fund scholarship from UNCF, which reduced financial stressors and allowed her to focus on her education.
If you're ready to support UNCF's work to help students like Dejia build their futures, please make your tax-deductible donation today to help us reach our $250,000 end-of-year goal.
Dejia is the first in her family to pursue a pre-med track. She is majoring in health science, which involves a combination of public health courses, human anatomy studies and specialized science classes.
She shared with UNCF that without the burden of worrying about tuition and expenses, she was able to fully dedicate herself to her academic and personal growth. As a result, she was able to excel during her sophomore year at Spelman through rigorous course loads—including organic chemistry, molecular biology, Spanish and more.
When you donate to help us reach our $250,000 end-of-year goal before Wednesday’s midnight deadline, you’ll be helping more students like Dejia pave the way to strong careers and prosperous futures. Your support is especially important as sweeping changes to federal financial aid are set to dramatically impact students in 2026. So please, can we count on your support before 2025 is over?
Make your tax-deductible, year-end donation to UNCF today to support more college students like Dejia as they return to their studies in the new year.
