Dear Friends, 

Happy Holidays! I will be hosting my final telephone town hall of 2025 this Tuesday, December 30th at 6:00 PM, to discuss the ongoing cost-of-living crisis squeezing Connecticut families – from cuts to Medicaid and Medicare, to skyrocketing health care premiums, and costly tariffs. Last week, four Republicans joined our effort to force a vote on a Democratic-led bill to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits thousands of Connecticut residents rely on. Without action, some families could see their costs double. This holiday season, families have also seen higher prices because of President Trump’s tariff policies – holiday gift costs alone increased by an average of 26%!   

I’ll continue to work to lower your health care costs and pass a bill I introduced with some of my Democratic colleagues to end these costly tariffs. I also recently helped introduce the American Affordability Act – a comprehensive plan to take on rising costs with real solutions to expand affordable housing, lower energy bills, cut taxes for working families, help student loan borrowers, and protect households from skyrocketing healthcare premiums.  

No one should have to choose between paying for health care, making rent, or putting food on the table. I look forward to having you on the line to hear from you and discuss these important issues.
