The best antidote to hate and fear? A united resistance fueled by hope and vision.
Yes, this is another email asking for money, friend, but before I get to that, I want to talk about why. Not just why we’re asking for your generosity, but the bigger question: Why I’m in this race and why I want to include you in this campaign.
Now, more than ever, we need leaders with hope and with a vision for the future. We need to restore folks’ faith in our government — not to mention our democracy. But we also have to build a future where everyone can afford the lives they want to live, where policies reflect the realities of hardworking families like yours and mine.
As nasty and divisive as our opponents can be, I know that the majority of Minnesotans reject their politics of hate and destruction. We have strength in our numbers, and we can defeat it. Together.
I’m not naive. It’s going to take a strong commitment and a lot of hard work to make it happen. But we have a secret weapon: Hope.
Hope is a unique power in leaders who are unafraid to act courageously and compassionately. It’s fueled by the conviction that we can make things better. It’s also fueled by the people who stand with us.
It’s the same in campaigns that are truly run by and for the people. We are making an investment in our shared future. An investment of time, energy, and yes, money.
