Dear John,

Before I go any further, I want to wish everyone who celebrates in MN-02 a (belated) Merry Christmas! I hope your celebrations were full of Christmas cheer.

Well, we’re in the final stretch of 2025 – and it has certainly been a challenging year.

In 2025, President Trump and Republicans in Congress made drastic cuts to Medicaid and SNAP, turned their backs on farm country and enacted the largest transfer of wealth from working families to billionaires in American history. We’ve seen his Administration continue to target immigrants in our communities, stifle the voices of the American people and take any chance they can to favor billionaires over everyday Minnesotans.

These aren’t the only challenges Minnesota endured this year.

This holiday season, we’re missing the two incredible individuals we lost earlier this year in a horrific act of political violence. As we continue to mourn Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark Hortman, let’s renew our commitment to lower the temperature in our politics, look out for our neighbors and treat one another with kindness.

Despite the immense challenges this year brought, it’s been an absolute honor to represent you here in Congress. And our work to deliver for Minnesotans continues. Two of my bills were signed into law this year, and I personally authored fourteen more. My team helped return over $3.2 million dollars from federal agencies to my constituents, and we brought home over $16 million dollars in federal funding to Minnesota’s Second District.

I’m deeply grateful for all of my constituents and our community partners who have worked hard to make life better in Minnesota. Whatever holiday you and your loved ones are celebrating, I hope this season brings peace, joy, and meaningful time together. I’m using the days ahead to rest, reflect and recharge ahead of the New Year.

Happy Holidays!

Until next time,
