Lately, I keep asking myself a question I know many parents

administration races to auction off the Arctic National Wildlife
Refuge, attempts to resurrect the offshore oil and gas industry
in California, moves to dismantle endangered species protections,

Recently, my daughter Laila told me something that stopped
me in my tracks: she doesn't want to sit back and let her future
be decided for her. Seeing what's happening to our planet has
made her determined to act.
She's 18, and her brother Arav is 15. They're old enough to
absorb what is happening to our planet, and to feel the weight of
it. So I tell them what I know to be true: we're building
something powerful together. A movement they can inherit — one
strong enough to defend their future.
I've seen the power of this movement firsthand. Together

* We secured protections that gave species like the gray wolf a
