For many Americans, 2025 was the year that redistricting turned from a wonky political process to a galvanizing issue and driving force for a movement of Americans rising up and taking back our democracy. We watched as cynical politicians sought to manipulate maps in states across the country — all because they’re scared of losing power.

To harness this moment, we reimagined our grassroots movement and unveiled its new name: Redistricting Action — together, we are building the powerhouse organization we need for the existential fights ahead. Voters need tools to defend their representation right now. That is what Redistricting Action is built to provide – a modern platform for grassroots activists who want clear information, better tools, and direct ways to engage in the redistricting process when it matters most.

Because this is no longer about an abstract process. It’s an ongoing struggle for representative democracy that demands vigilance, sustained organizing, and grassroots activists to stay engaged in the fight.

As we look to 2026, we more than have our work cut out for us.
