For our Christmas Day Fireside Chat, we present to you a speech by
Lyndon LaRouche on September 3, 1994, titled, “Building a Bridge from
Hell to Purgatory.”
After just being released from prison, American economist and
statesman Lyndon LaRouche had presented for the first time the
Eurasian Landbridge concept, a sweeping and comprehensive for the
rapid industrialization of the globe, led by great projects of
transportation, communications, energy, and water resources
infrastructure, aimed at raising the standard of living of all nations
toward and above that presently enjoyed today in the so-called
industrialized sector.
With the aid of several maps, LaRouche presented several key
development projects, such as the Oasis Plan in Southwest Asia, which
could be built with the aid of a reorganized financial system that
would inject credit into the nations of Eurasia, Africa, and South
America. The policy presented here has effectively become the extended
Belt and Road Initiative of China and similar “Win-Win” projects among
the BRICS nations.
Such a new form of relations, premised on win-win cooperation, not
zero-sum geopolitics, requires an axiomatic shift among the nations of
the trans-Atlantic today, the kind which gave birth to the Golden
Renaissance in Italy, and spread all over Europe in the 15th Century.
This was the product of great universal geniuses such as Nicholas of
Cusa, Leonardo da Vinci, Paolo Toscanelli, and others. In this
presentation, LaRouche will present the fight waged by these
Renaissance thinkers against the oligarchical financial powers
centered in Venice, who fought to create a system of modern sovereign
nation-states in Europe based on the idea that every human being was
created in the living image of God.
On this Christmas Day, we wish all of you joy, peace and happiness.
May today’s program allow you to reflect on state of the world, along
with your responsibility in transforming your country by practicing
self-government, and intervening on behalf of humanity with Agape, as
LaRouche himself did for over 50 years as a public figure.
