Hello John,

As we head into a new year, I want to share what’s ahead for It Gets Better and why 2026 feels like an important moment for our organization.

We’ll continue the work that has defined us for the last 15 years. In the year ahead, we’re launching a new cycle of It Gets Better: Changemakers grants, including targeted support for queer proms and community-based art projects. We’re welcoming new Youth Voices cohorts. And we’ll keep amplifying stories of joy, resilience, and possibility that remind LGBTQ+ young people they are not alone, and that a future filled with limitless potential is possible.

At the same time, we know the world LGBTQ+ youth are navigating is changing fast. The challenges they face are more complex, and the way we respond must evolve with care and intention.

We are already deep into thoughtful exploration of new ways to strengthen our impact, and we’re ready to kick this work into a higher gear, carefully and with a clear focus on impact. That means testing tools responsibly, listening closely to young people and partners, and staying grounded in what has always mattered most: trust, responsibility, and people-first leadership.

It Gets Better has always been a movement built hand in hand with community. Your belief and support make it possible for us to grow, adapt, and keep showing up for LGBTQ+ youth when it matters most.
