Dear John,

As Christmas comes around again, I wish you and your loved ones a joyous and blessed Christmas.

This year, our path together hasn’t been easy. Together, we’ve faced powerful forces that openly attack our values and the beliefs we hold dearest.

And yet, through every storm, you’ve stood firm. I also know that, with Anna Derbyshire, you stood with countless local efforts for the values you cherish most in the United States.

Yet in all this darkness, the message of Christmas reminds me of an eternal truth: “...the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.” (John 1:5).

Over two thousand years ago, in a humble stable, Hope entered the world—not with fanfare, but in the quiet cry of a newborn child. The Christ, the Son of God, came to conquer sin and death, bringing hope and love to a troubled world—a message that could not be more timely.

And Bethlehem is where heaven met earth.

And there, amid straw and starlight, the Eternal Word took on flesh, so that you and I would never again walk alone. So that you and I could live forever.

Tonight, as the world feels harder, darker, and more divided than ever, we pause before the manger, because there, between poverty and wonder, true Hope was born.

So even when the world offers us fear or despair, we know that a greater light has already broken through and changed everything.

That’s why we keep standing, speaking, and fighting for life and truth: because Love Himself chose to dwell among us.

This Christmas, I hope that same Light fills your heart with peace and renews your courage to defend life, family, and what we value most, our faith.

Every petition you’ve signed this year, every campaign you’ve shared, and every prayer you’ve lifted up are part of a movement that reflects the Light of Christ in a darkened world.

May the miracle of Christmas fill your heart with joy, and may you and your loved ones rejoice in the miracle of knowing that Emmanuel—God is with us—is near, and that darkness will never conquer.

Thank you for standing with us in this vital mission. Together, may we step into the New Year, emboldened by the Hope born in a manger tonight.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
Ignacio Arsuaga and the entire CitizenGO Team
