Last week, People's Action members like you organized 31 different events in 22 states to demand a People’s Bailout from the Senate. With a handful of days left until expanded unemployment benefits expire and the rent being due, we need your help to keep the momentum going.
Tell the Senate to provide immediate relief and pass a People’s Bailout now.
Right now, Trump is pushing absolutely unbelievable priorities for the next coronavirus relief bill. Instead of putting people first, Trump wants to weaken Social Security funding, give almost no aid to state and local governments, and bully states into forcing their kids back into classrooms vulnerable to COVID-19–with or without the resources to keep them safe.
Our unemployment rate is staggering. Infection rates are exploding. People need help, with Black and Latinx people being some of the hardest hit and most in need of assistance. This bill must not turn into a wish list for billionaires and corporate CEOs at the expense of poor and working class people.
We need a People’s Bailout. A relief package worth that name would:

Guarantee health care during the pandemic;

Cancel rent and end evictions;

Provide emergency money for the people;
-
Extend pandemic unemployment insurance;

Cancel student debt;
-
Include undocumented immigrants in benefit eligibility;

Fund green jobs for a just long-term recovery and equitable future;

Provide significant relief for localities and states; and
-
Exclude the $300 million slated for the COPS program.
Tell the Senate we need relief now. We can’t wait.
