I’ve been in the game a long time, so I’ve got a sense which races are going to be close and which candidates are worth getting behind.

I’m also very familiar with the importance of Iowa, which is why I know that Rob Sand has what it takes to win the governor’s race, for a number of reasons:

It’s already close. Like, really close. In fact, Sabato’s Crystal Ball recently moved it from “Likely R” to “Lean R.”

The partisan insiders who’ve been at the wheel for years are historically unpopular. Before announcing she’s not running for re-election, Kim Reynolds was among the least popular governors in the country.

Rob Sand is a uniquely perfect candidate for this race, and his campaign gives Democrats a shot to win a race that would otherwise be out of reach.

We’d be foolish to sleep on Iowa, and we’ve got an opportunity to make massive inroads in a tough state, but only if we support Rob Sand. Will you please split a donation between his campaign to be Iowa’s next governor and Blue Amp Action?

Rob Sand gives us a chance to move Iowa forward and pry control away from the partisan insiders and special interests that he’s gone after during his time as State Auditor.

Some of those same insiders are even running against Rob, too.

Winning in a state like Iowa won’t be easy. It’s going to require broad, far-ranging outreach, tough conversations with folks who might not always agree with us, and forging connections based on Iowa and the needs of the community.

But the key ingredient to winning a tough race in a challenging environment is grassroots support and enthusiasm. And that’s Rob’s not-so-secret weapon.

I’m all-in on helping elect Rob as Iowa’s next governor, but he’s going to need more than just my help — he needs yours, too, John. Can he count on you to split a $25 donation to boost his campaign and help elect a governor who will move Iowa forward?
