John, it’s Congresswoman Sarah McBride. I want to share what I recently shared on the Capitol steps:

I didn’t have the courage to come out until I was 21.

The truth is, I had known who I was for my entire life, and that meant 21 years of pain. 21 years of a kind of homesickness that only went away when I was finally able to get the care I needed.

My biggest regret in life is that I never had a childhood without that pain.

So many years later, I marvel at the courage of transgender young people today, who are sharing themselves with their families and this world despite the toxicity and the hate that too often comes from Congress and from the politicians inside it.

All any of us want is to live a life of purpose and happiness and wholeness, and I carry that with me every day in Congress — especially right now.

In just days, millions of Americans will see their health insurance premiums skyrocket.

And instead of doing something about it, Mike Johnson and House Republicans just passed some of the most extreme anti-trans bills we’ve seen — including legislation that risks jailing parents and doctors for affirming transgender children and following medical best practices.

Republican politicians have made their priorities painfully clear: all they care about is making the rich richer and attacking trans people.

John, as the only openly trans member of Congress, I refuse to stay silent. I will keep fighting for the dignity, humanity, and fair treatment of every person in Delaware and across the country.

But if we’re going to tackle this Republican obsession, I need you standing with me.

Rush a split donation between my campaign and Derek Tran to help us keep pushing back. Every donation sends a powerful message that we won’t let Republicans get away with weaponizing trans kids as political pawns.
