As we close out 2025, we at NPQ are looking back on what we’ve published this year. When we put these lists together, it is always a daunting task—my list of favorites could easily stretch far longer.
Some of the articles I’ve selected include voices from Black women in the US South, stories of Asian diasporic digital community media, and organizing that advances a multiracial democracy in the United States, among others.
My picks of 2025 are rounded out by two in-depth interviews, an analytical article on how to confront private equity and achieve sustainable housing affordability, reporting on the struggles of workers at Starbucks, and a range of stories from earlier in the year on movement and nonprofit strategies for our times.
If you read all these articles when they first came out, congratulations! But if not, please take the time to read them now. At NPQ, we regularly emphasize the importance of storytelling, solutions, and solidarity in advancing economic and racial justice. I hope you find some wisdom in the stories that I am sharing with you today.
