Happy solstice, y'all!
This day is known in many cultures as Mother Night. She carries
the archetypes of the Witch, the Wise One, the Weaver and the
Crone. And despite the darkness, stillness and quiet that
accompany her, she is not empty but fertile.
Winter Solstice is not simply the longest night, but marks the
return of the light and the dawning of a new era. This season
reminds us that seeds you've been planting throughout the
year are very much alive beneath the surface - beyond our sight
and control, surviving even the harshest conditions and readying
themselves to grow.
Can you trust in what is already becoming?
May this season be the sacred exhale you've been waiting for. And
may what emerges from this point forward bring forth your wildest
dreams. Here is a blessing from David Whyte to accompany your
journey:
When your eyes are tired
the world is tired also.
When your vision has gone,
no part of the world can find you.
Time to go into the dark
where the night has eyes
to recognize its own.
There you can be sure
you are not beyond love.
The dark will be your home
tonight.
The night will give you a horizon
further than you can see.
You must learn one thing.
The world was made to be free in.
Give up all the other worlds
except the one to which you belong.
Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet
confinement of your aloneness
to learn

the stories that no longer serve. Through reflection, stillness,
and embodied presence, we tend the small but enduring spark
within—trusting that new life begins its gestation here, in the
quiet, before the light returns.
