For example, this year, U.S. PIRG Education Fund and our national network helped organize the first International Plastic Pellet Count, a citizen science effort to document plastic pellet pollution on shores around the world. Volunteers collected nearly 50,000 plastic pellets, but we have so much more work to do to cut down on plastic.1

As part of International Repair day, our national network helped organize "fix-a-thons" that helped people repair their laptops instead of trashing them because Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 10.3

Researchers have told us that pesticides like neonicotinoid pesticides can make the bees that pollinate our food sick, and even paralyze and kill them.

With bee species suffering population loss, PIRG and our national network are working to educate consumers, raise awareness about bee-killing pesticides and get them off store shelves.4
