Help support clear, principled leadership for public policy

Good morning,

As our great country closes out a turbulent year, I’m more grateful than ever for the clarity and conviction that we have sustained in these uncertain times. One thing this year affirmed is that demand for AEI’s unique brand—principled, independent, and grounded in open inquiry—is stronger than ever. While the national conversation can feel loud and polarized, we continue to navigate by unchanging values rather than shifting political winds. That integrity has cemented AEI’s indispensable role.

In 2025, AEI scholars provided clear, principled leadership on issues that will define the years ahead—from promoting free markets to strengthening national security. In 2026, our scholars will continue shaping the most consequential policy decisions facing the United States and its allies, including by:

- Strengthening US Defense and Global Leadership. AEI’s Critical Threats Project ([link removed] ) continues to publish daily assessments used by senior military leaders and allied governments, offering indispensable strategy insights on China, Taiwan, Ukraine, and global security threats. Meanwhile, our scholars are among the nation’s top voices mapping out a strategy for a defense budget ([link removed] ) that meets the moment.

- Restoring Free Inquiry and Excellence in Education. AEI’s newly launched Center for the Future of the American University ([link removed] ) is partnering with leading universities to build new civic thought centers and curricula across the country. Alongside these efforts, AEI’s Conservative Education Reform Network ([link removed] ) continues to grow at breakneck speed.

- Promoting Free Trade and Countering Harmful Tariffs. As tariff proposals gained momentum this year, AEI analysis reached millions through testimony, briefings, and national media engagement ([link removed] ) —directly limiting harmful policy proposals. Our scholars continue to lead an expanded education effort for lawmakers, business leaders, and the public.

- Celebrating the American Founding and the Constitution. Through our America at 250 ([link removed] ) initiative, AEI is producing an eight-volume series with top constitutional scholars and hosting national convenings with students, educators, and policymakers. This scholarship has already informed debates on the separation of powers, rule of law, and constitutional reform.

As the year concludes, please consider a tax-deductible gift to AEI. Your support will fuel the work that helps secure the blessings of liberty for the next generation.
