I’m running because families in our community are being squeezed from every direction. From the skyrocketing cost of groceries and housing to the burdens of healthcare and childcare, too many people are working harder than ever and still falling behind. Affordability isn’t just an issue—it’s the issue—and it will be at the heart of everything I fight for in Washington.
But this moment demands more than economic solutions alone. Our democracy itself is being tested. The Trump administration and its allies continue to undermine democratic norms, chip away at critical protections, target immigrants, and put the interests of billionaires above those of working families. The stakes have truly never been higher. We need leaders who will defend our democratic institutions and our Constitution with clarity and courage.
I have had the honor of previously representing the 5th District, and I did so with integrity, independence, and a steadfast commitment to serving all of my constituents—no matter their party or background. I have built a record of standing up for what is right, even when it wasn’t easy, and of working to deliver real solutions for all people.
This community shaped me. I was born and raised in Albemarle County, and the values I learned here—hard work, fairness, and a belief in the power of community—continue to guide me every day. I am ready to fight for this district again, and I am ready to win.
