Friend,
Construction began on the Revolution Wind offshore wind farm two years ago.
The project promised a lot to the people of Rhode Island: well-paying jobs for workers, big investments in our ports, and clean, affordable energy for a huge number of homes and businesses – needed relief in the face of rising utility bills.
Then, over the summer, the Donald “Stop Work” Trump shut it all down.
Cancelling this fully-permitted project when it was 80% complete betrayed the local union workers building it and the ratepayers who were expecting lower electric bills.
Watch this video to hear what what members of the RI AFL-CIO had to say about what happened to their livelihoods:

But we fought back. Rhode Island took the administration to court, and I’m proud to say that WE WON. Now, work on the Revolution Wind project has restarted, union workers are back on the job, and construction is set to be complete soon.
The truth is, this fight is far from over. The fossil fuel industry and their cronies in Washington won't stop coming after clean energy, and they won't stop trying to keep American families locked into expensive, polluting energy sources that pad Big Oil's bottom line.
I've spent years in the Senate on the side of labor, taking on the fossil fuel industry and exposing the massive fraud that has been pulled on the American people. With Donald Trump back in the White House doing Big Oil’s bidding, this work has never been more important.
We need leaders who will stand up to this administration's lawlessness, protect projects like Revolution Wind, and fight for lower energy costs.
Let’s win more victories for working men and women.
Sheldon Whitehouse
