Democrat,

As we come to the end of 2025, we have much to reflect on and be proud of this year. The work we’ve accomplished together is nothing short of historic. In Mikie Sherrill and Dr. Dale Caldwell, we have leaders who embody the strength, values, and diversity of our state. Beyond the governorship, together we elected assembly members, mayors, and council members that will transform local communities. Let’s build off this success and aim even higher in 2026.

Donald Trump and New Jersey Republicans are enacting an agenda that is harmful to our communities and out-of-touch with our needs and concerns. People throughout our state and country are dissatisfied. We have a big opportunity to elect thoughtful Democratic leaders who will meet the moment and deliver for our state.

I hope everyone enjoys some quality time with family and friends this holiday season. Get some rest now and I look forward to seeing you soon.

— Chairman LeRoy J. Jones, Jr.

The Sherrill Transition

This week, Governor-elect Sherrill announced  her nominee for Attorney General of New Jersey, Jennifer Davenport. She would bring a wealth of experience to this position, previously serving as First Assistant Attorney General and Principal Law Enforcement Advisor in the AG’s office as well as working to root out corruption as the New Jersey Commissioner on the Waterfront Commission. Whether it’s civil or criminal, Davenport has over 15 years of experience navigating tough cases. She will work tirelessly alongside Governor-elect Sherrill to stand up for our rights, tackle price gouging, keep communities safe, and uphold our Constitution.

NJGOP Congressmen Did Nothing to Stop Healthcare Costs from Skyrocketing

Earlier this year, Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress set off a healthcare crisis by decimating Medicaid and refusing to extend ACA premium tax credits.

Those tax credits are set to expire at the end of year. On January 1st, 22 million Americans will see their monthly healthcare premiums increase by an average of 114% and more than 1.5 million Americans will lose healthcare entirely. Mike Johnson and Republicans in Congress refused to even put legislation up for a vote that would address this issue.

Every single House Democrat has signed a discharge petition to extend the ACA tax credits for three years, and then convinced four Republicans to join them, forcing a vote on this bill. Who were those four? If you guessed any of the three NJ Republican congressmen you’d be wrong. Tom Kean Jr., Jeff Van Drew, and Chris Smith refused to grow a backbone and stop healthcare prices from rising. 2026 is just around the corner. New Jerseyans deserve federal representation that works to lower costs and protects access to care, not elected officials who tow the party line and do nothing for their constituents.
