For decades, Bill Moyers stood out as one of America's most steadfast champions of bold and insightful journalism. He was a national treasure — one we sadly lost last June at age 91.

I feel deeply honored to have had the opportunity to work with Bill when I was at Common Cause, and for his steadfast support for the Center for Media and Democracy (CMD).

Bill always understood that democracy cannot function in darkness. His work cast light on the powerful forces shaping public life with a rare combination of moral conviction, bravery, and intellectual honesty. 

Many of you may remember that for many years at this time, Bill graciously let us send out the message below praising CMD’s work and asking for your support. Here it is, one last time:
