What To Know About Long Covid [ [link removed] ]
Long COVID, also called post-COVID syndrome, is one potential effect of COVID-19 infection.
Long COVID is a post-acute infection syndrome (PAIS). This means symptoms continue or begin after the first symptoms of COVID-19 infection have resolved. These symptoms generally start within 3 months after you get COVID-19 and can last for weeks, months, or even years.
This condition isn’t uncommon. In fact, an estimated 6% [ [link removed] ] of adults in Washington — about 380,000 people — have Long COVID right now.
Experts still have more to understand about Long COVID and its effects, since like COVID-19, the condition is still fairly new. But they have learned a lot since first discovering Long COVID.
