I ran for Congress because I was tired of watching politicians talk past the real issues facing working families and rural communities. I thought that we deserved to have someone in the room who had lived those challenges – someone who knew what it meant to worry about a childcare bill, a late paycheck, or a broken transmission.
That’s still why I’m here.
But, it’s also why national special interest groups want to replace me with a career politician who will unquestioningly rubber-stamp their agenda.
