‘Just like Brexit, the Tories and Reform need a scapegoat for the country’s problems. This time they are selling the deceptive promise that leaving the ECHR will magically solve the problems their policies and governments have created.’
The Prime Minister said that “wild promises were made to the British people and not fulfilled. We are still dealing with the consequences [of Brexit] today”. He is 100% spot on in this assessment. Armed with this knowledge, we must protect ourselves against the false promises of leaving yet another international commitment: The European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).
Forged in the horrifying aftermath of the Holocaust and the Second World War, the ECHR was created in a moment when Europe vowed that such atrocities must never be repeated.
