I am mourning with the Brown University community and all of Rhode Island following the horrific shooting on campus this Saturday.

This is a heartbreaking tragedy, and it strikes especially close to home. Brown is a place where students, faculty, staff, and families come together to learn, work, and build their futures. That violence would touch this community, particularly as students were preparing to head home for the holidays, is devastating.
