Dear Friend,
Today is Bill of Rights Day—December 15.
Two hundred thirty-four years ago, the Bill of Rights was ratified to serve as a barrier between the people and unchecked government power.
Today, those protections are being hollowed out in plain sight.
Speech is policed.
Privacy is treated as obsolete.
Due process is delayed indefinitely.
Police power is militarized.
Surveillance is normalized.
The Bill of Rights was never meant to be symbolic. It was meant to be enforced.
