Hi friend,

Before running for Congress, I remember my inbox getting flooded with desperate, hair-on-fire emails from other Democratic campaigns.

To be honest, I hated them. The deadlines always seemed arbitrary, and they were often full of obnoxious scare tactics. Democratic donors have plenty of real reasons why they should support the cause. It’s our job to provide those messages to our voters.

The stakes are high, but we won't feed into the panic you might see on social media or cable news that's caused so much distrust and dysfunction over the years.

So today I want to give it to you straight. We have two weeks until my FINAL FEC fundraising deadline before my reelection year, with two opponents lined up against me. We are about $25,000 short of our grassroots donor goal, and showing strength right now is critical.

I'm not going to scare you into supporting us, but I do hope you'll send in a donation of $3 or more to help us meet our goal.

A wise woman once said, “when a clown moves into a palace, it doesn’t make him a king. The palace just becomes a circus.”

Unfortunately, that seems like the mantra of the current White House and GOP majority, where every day Congress feels like it’s under the big top.

We can close their big top, but we're not going to do it with the corporate billionaire money they're beholden to, so when I say we're counting on your support, I truly mean it!
