Hi John,

Voto Latino President and co-founder María Teresa Kumar appeared on Morning Joe to discuss our latest national poll. We’ve been polling Americans for more than two decades — but for the first time, more than half of respondents agreed that “The American dream is dead.”

This holiday season, Voto Latino has launched the Comunidad Care Fund to provide groceries and household essentials to families who need it most. Your generous donation today will directly impact someone’s life >>

Our poll confirms what our community has been feeling for a long time:

➣  Folks say they are making sacrifices to cope with higher prices by switching to cheaper groceries, skipping or delaying medical care, taking on extra jobs or side gigs, or taking on more debt to stay afloat.

➣  Black, Latino, and AAPI respondents are more likely to report these kinds of sacrifices. Half of Black adults say they are carrying more than $10K in debt.

➣  Among Latinos, 78% shared that seeing ICE officers in their neighborhoods makes them feel less safe.

➣  In addition to the 57% of respondents who said the American dream is dead, 80% said they believe the next generation will be worse off.

These results aren’t surprising — but they are shocking because this pain was avoidable. Donald Trump’s reckless policies have led to higher costs, militarization of neighborhoods, fear of loved ones being detained, and anxiety for the future of our children and democracy.

When the world feels heavy, we must lift together. That’s why Voto Latino’s Comunidad Care Fund is providing direct support to our neighbors in need. Will you donate now to help us ensure no family goes hungry this holiday season?
