The fight to take down AIPAC runs right through North Carolina’s 4th congressional district, John.
Our newest 2026 Democratic primary candidate, Nida Allam, is running to unseat a genocide-enabling incumbent who got to Congress with millions of dollars of help from the Israel lobby.
Rep. Valerie Foushee’s 2022 campaign was bankrolled by anti-Palestinian lobbies like AIPAC and the Democratic Majority for Israel (DMFI). In return, she voted to spend BILLIONS of our taxpayer dollars on weapons and bombs for the Israeli military.
$432 million of North Carolinians’ tax dollars went to weapons for Israel — that money could have paid for one month’s worth of groceries for every family in NC-04, or powered every home in the district with solar power for a year and then some!
To make matters worse, Foushee refuses to call Israel’s actions what they are: a genocide. She even went on an AIPAC-sponsored trip to Israel last year and met with Benjamin Netanyahu. In the middle of a genocide, she posed for photos with the government committing it — that’s completely disqualifying.
Nida, on the other hand, has been a long-time supporter of Palestinian freedom. That’s why the Israel lobby dropped $2.5 million against her campaign in 2022. She has remained a vocal opponent of the genocide in Gaza and will oppose sending another cent to Israel for bombs and weapons.
This competitive primary is our first opportunity on the calendar to fight back against AIPAC and replace one of their stooges in Congress.
Like Nida told The Intercept, “We cannot allow AIPAC and these corporate billionaires to scare us into silence. It’s actually our mandate to take them on directly, especially now as they’re losing their sway in the Democratic Party.”
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
