Our First AdMy opponent has a long history with Donald Trump. While I fight every day to protect Cook County residents and our essential services, Alderman Reilly has spent years advancing Trump’s interests - from Trump Tower to the White House. While my opponent stands by, I’m focused on action - investing in programs that make a tangible difference in our communities. We’ve just rolled out a $5 million grant to support survivors of gun violence in suburban Cook County, following $20 million in community intervention funding earlier this year. We've funded services for survivors and those directly impacted by gun violence including clinical services, financial assistance, trauma-informed programming and housing services. Community-based organizations in Suburban Cook County can apply now: Despite what Trump and his allies claim, violent crime - including gun homicides - has fallen nearly 50% over the past four years. What we’re doing works, and we’re continuing to invest where it makes the biggest difference.
In the News… I joined WGN’s Paul Lisnek on his Sunday morning show to talk about my FY2026 budget and how we’re standing up for Cook County against federal cuts and chaos under the Trump administration. "We’re addressing urgent needs, safeguarding core services, and preparing for what’s ahead.” Mark your calendars Join me for an evening reception: |
