Thank you for supporting NNIRR’s work in 2025!

Dear John,

Our federal government is attacking our immigrant neighbors on multiple levels. We are witnessing an enforcement escalation not seen in our 40-year history. Enforcement practices first developed and deployed along the U.S.–Mexico border going back decades have been expanded across the country.

This not a time to despair. Join us as we defend our neighbors and help build the resistance.

Stop the kidnappings and deportations. Donate today! Protect our neighbors!

Your donation enables our partners on the ground at the Texas border, El Paso in particular -- to support immigrant families as they navigate attacks on their rights, safety, and dignity.

Thanks to your generous support, in 2026 we will continue to:

  • Train community and families about their rights and ensure that parents have a plan in place, in the event a loved one is detained.
  • Train volunteers in churches and community spaces to monitor ICE and Border Patrol activity and mobilize support quickly.
  • Reinforce networks of legal, mental health, and community care so that when a deportation happens, neighbors know what to do so no one is left alone.
  • Support DACAmented youth by connecting them with legal counsel and community support.

This work is urgent.

Your donations sustain it.

Our ability to organize and strengthen immigrant defense is only possible because of friends and donors like you. Please donate today. If you have given recently, please consider doubling your donation and/or becoming a monthly sustainer.

Your generosity helps us safeguards lives, build the resistance, and strengthens a movement rooted in justice and human dignity.

In solidarity and community,

OUR IMPACT

Amerika Garcia Grewal

Frontera Federation

I grew up in Eagle Pass. The border is my home! The stakes here are real and I feel them every day.

I’m seeing the rights of immigrants and refugees being stripped away and the state turning their back on asylum seekers. There’s concertina wire next to the Rio Grande, and tanks on the golf course. Texas figured out that if they declare a disaster, they could bypass regulations and pour public funds into the private projects of their cronies.

We started a monthly Border Vigil when we saw a rise in migrant deaths here on the US side. The vigil was our way of bearing witness. But I knew that we needed to do more. So, I co-founded the Frontera Federation to address the deaths happening on both sides of the border. Under Trump 2.0 the rhetoric is harsher, enforcement is more punitive and access to funding and support is dropping.

NNIRR’s Institute was a turning point for me. Starting with the very first activity I found my people and I found my voice. The trainings helped our organization frame our local fight within a national and global context. It gave us the language and the framework to articulate how the situation in Eagle Pass connects to the rights of people everywhere. It also shattered the isolation I felt. Eagle Pass is a long way away from everybody and everything. NNIRR came to us and connected us directly to a resilient network of experienced organizers. The seeds that were planted then grew into a new organization with roots on both sides of the border. What happens on the border doesn’t stay on the border!

2025 NNIRR Internship Program

Jada Luxene

NNIRR Communications Intern

My internship with NNIRR has been a formative experience for me. My responsibilities involve supporting the network’s digital advocacy and online presence for engagement. Posts require researching the topics at hand, teaching me to be intentional with my wording and capture these issues critically and accurately. This internship has transformed the way I engage with the media, making me more critical of sources and a better advocate. My familiarity with media platforms allows me to be confident in how I spread information and garner support. This internship has clarified that I want to become a human rights defender dedicated to migrant issues. It has inspired me to join protests, as seen in the image above.
