John,
Every month, we will continue to share updates on the important work we’re doing to build enduring political power in states across the country and keep you informed about what role you can play to fight for a progressive future.
This is our last dispatch of 2025 — and it’s a big one with a look into what we’ve achieved together this year. From all of us at Sister District: thank you for being a critical part of our grassroots community.
See you in 2026! ❤️

📰 Sister District in the News
|
Earlier this year, our endorsement of State Sen. Catelin Drey in Iowa’s special election resulted in one of the biggest upsets of the cycle. Not only did her victory flip a seat held by Republicans for 13 years, it also ended the Republican supermajority in the Iowa Senate.
In her latest op-ed, Invest in Rural America. My Victory Shows Why, Sen. Drey shares that Sister District’s support was critical to making that moment possible:
“What made the difference for me wasn’t a viral moment or a flashy consultant. [..] During my campaign, the Sister District Project, dedicated to building progressive power in state legislatures, mobilized their network to make nearly 30,000 phone calls. This invaluable support allowed my campaign to focus on grassroots efforts [..] That human infrastructure — built over years, not weeks — is what flipped this seat.”

🎁 Sister District Holiday Wishlist

As we close out the year, we’re dreaming big — and we’d love your help to make those dreams real.
We put together our Sister District Holiday Wishlist, a collection of tools and early investments in our candidates and volunteers that will power our 2026 work.

💙In Memory of Faith Winter
|
Our community is mourning the loss of State Senator — and Sister District alum — Faith Winter, who passed away earlier this month. Faith was a dedicated public servant whose leadership on paid family leave, climate action, and equity will continue to improve lives for people in Colorado for years to come.
We’re holding her loved ones and the communities she served in our hearts. May her memory continue to inspire all of us to build the future she fought for every day.
|
That’s all for now, John. We hope you enjoyed reading this newsletter. We’re grateful to have you as part of our collective fight to win permanent progressive power in the states for our communities.
Thank you, and enjoy your weekend!
