This week, Republicans once again failed to extend the ACA tax credits. If they continue to vote down the extensions, healthcare costs are about to explode at the start of 2026.
* First, Donald Trump’s Big Ugly Law gutted Medicaid causing millions of Americans to lose their healthcare.
* Then, this pushed hospitals across the nation into bankruptcy, worsening our healthcare shortage.
* Now, with Republicans set on expiring the ACA tax credits, the cost of healthcare coverage is set to rise astronomically at the beginning of 2026.
Some families in our district are already being impacted and have called into Dr. Ruiz’s office to report the higher costs they’ve been seeing. Some are even seeing their monthly premiums increase by thousands.

The son of hardworking farmworkers, Dr. Ruiz grew up in Coachella, CA and learned at an early age that the key to attaining the American Dream is hard work and a great education. In the summer of 1990, Raul walked in the desert heat from business to business in the Coachella Valley asking them to invest in their community by contributing to his education. With each investment for college, he made a promise to come back home and serve his community as a physician. In 2012, he decided to take his service to the community to the next level by running for Congress. Dr. Ruiz needs our help to continue fighting for us in Congress.
