Herbert, I bet you didn't know this about me, but I played football in high school. 

Look, I was no D.J. Moore or Rome Odunze, but I was a pretty good wide receiver for Richwoods High School. We were a competitive team, and getting that spot on the team was a big deal for me.

I loved playing football. As one of the only Indian kids in my school, playing football made me feel connected to my peers in a new way. I wasn't just "the Indian kid" anymore.

And truly, being on that high school football team showed me how to be a team player, to fight for things beyond myself.

It may sound silly, but that shaped who I am as a leader today.
